DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is a polyunsaturated fatty acid, and is an essential building block of brain and nerve tissue. DHA, which constitutes a large percentage of the brain, supports brain development during the last trimester of pregnancy when the unborn child's demand for neurological growth increases greatly.
