The name Pantothenic Acid is derived from the Greek word pantos, which means “everywhere”. Thompson’s high dose Pantothenic Acid is available as Calcium Pantothenate. Thompson’s Pantothenic Acid 500mg is a one a day potent dose enabling greater:
· convenience
· compliance and
· cost effectiveness

Pantothenic Acid is an antioxidant and part of the B Complex family, more commonly known as Vitamin B5. Pantothenic Acid plays a critical role in the utilisation of fats and carbohydrates in energy production and in the manufacture of adrenal hormones and red blood cells.

Pantothenic acid plays a fundamental role in cellular physiology as a constituent of Coenzyme A and as such it intervenes in the metabolism of lipids; and in addition is the precursor of cholesterol and of steroid hormones. Research indicates that Pantothenic Acid may be therapeutically utilised in under-active adrenal function, in increasing intestinal motility and in those conditions where the structure of the skin, hair, and mucosae are altered.

Vitamin B5 is necessary for maintaining optimum adrenal function. Because of the role of Pantothenic Acid in supporting and nourishing the adrenal glands it has long been considered the “anti-stress” vitamin. Furthermore, if the adrenal gland fails to function, our bodies will not be able to produce progesterone which may result in oestrogen dominance.

Our adrenal glands need Pantothenic Acid to manufacture anti-inflammatory hormones such as cortisol. Thus Pantothenic acid may be a useful adjunct in inflammatory related ailments
